Trouver un terrain!

Quand le temps vient de se construire, et trouver un terrain qui nous plaît, c'est très difficile. Nous sommes à la recherche de terrain à chaque jour. Nous savons que ce n'est pas facile. Trop large, trop étroit, trop profond, pas assez d'arbres, voisin indésirable, trop dispendieux etc... Si vous êtes toujours à la recherche, cet article est pour vous.

La première chose à faire est bien sûr, le choix d'une ville. Encore plus important, le secteur de cette ville. Vous connaissez sûrement les bienfaits et avantages de ce quartier, mais y a-t'il des inconvénients? Avez-vous le droit de bâtir votre style de maison? Y a-t'il des terrains de disponible ou vous devez démolir une maison existante? Quel est le prix des terrains? Le zonage vous permet combien d'étages, quelle largeur, hauteur et profondeur?

Qu'est-ce qui est le plus important? La maison que vous désirez construire, ou le lot? Que ce soit en raison du zonage ou du budget, un compromis sera peut-être nécessaire. Si tel est votre cas, prenez en exemple un jeu de fléchettes. Vous aimeriez avoir un "Bulls-Eye", mais avoir un 20 ne serait pas si mal non plus. Élargissez votre territoire de recherche. Vous trouverez chaussure à votre pied, et au prix que vous voulez.

Landing your lot!

When talking about land, the old saying “They aren’t making any more of it!” rings true. We look for land every day, and we know how hard it can be to find the perfect lot. If you haven’t found one yet, this is the post for you!

First, start off by knowing which city you want to live in, then try and narrow that down to the area of the city you want your home to be. You already know all the pros about living there (that’s why you picked it!), but what about the cons? Can you build the style of home you want there? Are there any vacant lots available, or will you have to demolish an existing house? What is the price of the lots? Once you have a clearer picture of the cons, then you can decide what the next part of the search will be.

What is more important for you, the home you want to build or the lot? Sometimes a compromise will need to be made, whether it is because of budget or zoning regulations. If that is the case, think of the ideal lot like a dartboard. You want to have a bullseye and get right in the middle, but getting a 20 isn’t so bad either. Extend your search a little further until you find the ideal lot, considering everything you want.
